1. What are Cookies?
Cookies are tiny text files placed on your computer, tablet, or smartphone when you browse online directories. They allow web applications to store preferences, identify recurring visits, keep you logged in, and analyze generic visitor patterns.
2. How AdBoom.ie Uses Cookies
We use cookies under the Irish ePrivacy Regulations to deliver a smooth and responsive interface. Specifically, we use cookies for:
- Strictly Necessary Cookies: Maintaining your listing dashboard session and security features.
- Functional Preference Cookies: Saving your favorited items list (so bookmarks are retained when returning to the site) and remembering your selected county filter.
- Consent Logging Cookies: Remembering your preference choice on our Cookie Consent Banner so that it does not pop up on every page load.
- Analytics Cookies: Generating anonymous statistics of traffic flows to optimize page rendering speeds.
3. List of Key Cookies Used
| Cookie Name | Type / Duration | Functional Description |
|---|---|---|
| adboom_cookie_consent | Persistent (1 Year) | Stores your cookie consent choice. Prevents repeating banners. |
| adboom_favorites | Persistent (6 Months) | Saves item bookmarks on your browser for seamless retrieval. |
| _ga / _gid | Analytical (Session/Persistent) | Anonymous, aggregate analytics to track listing view counts. |
4. Managing & Deleting Cookies
You have the complete right to block or withdraw consent for cookies. Most modern browsers allow you to decline all cookies or remove specific stored files via settings:
- Google Chrome (Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data)
- Apple Safari (Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data)
- Mozilla Firefox (Options > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data)
Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies can prevent bookmarking functions and dynamic listings filters from operating correctly.
